“Let silence take you to the core of life.” – Rumi
Instead of fulfilling the desire to give everything a label, a comparison, or a judgement, try silently watching and feeling. You find that it all has humor, and love, and beauty.
I am learning all this. It’s easy to repeat the things I’ve read, the things that intellectually and spiritually make sense to me, that I feel have to be the truth… but another to truly comprehend it. I believe that like anything, it comes with practice, so every day I aim to quiet the mental chatter with silence.
“To a mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders.” – Chuang-tzu
I have started to feel the lightness that comes from this practice, of paying attention to my breath and truly appreciating the silence that follows. I have begun to realize that these thoughts don’t have to be there for me to live. In fact, the silence allows more opportunity for living freely. Quietly, peacefully, you create a blissful space when you stop holding onto thoughts.
In the silence you find that you are connected with everything, the universe is inside you. The Universal Mind exists within the silence, and this is where the Truth lies.
“In Silence there is eloquence. Stop weaving and see how the pattern improves.” ― Rumi
